Rave Valves - Leaking???

So I've had my 97 Challenger (single 787) out a few times so far this year and after a winter of tweaking and tuning (thanks to this forum) it's running great. I have noticed though after a few hours on the water that both RAVE Valves are showing a small amount of black around them. Now they shouldn't be leaking since I rebuilt both of them recently with new pistons (the plastic disc), O rings, gaskets etc. I did NOT replace the bellows since I couldn't see any signs of wear & tear.
Is it normal for them to leak exhaust a little? Or, perhaps the garter spring that holds the bellows to the piston is weak and allowing some exh. pressure by. It's not a huge issue, but I've spent several hours cleaning the engine & bay and would like to keep it clean.

Suggestions?

It's possible that the housing hole is getting "oblong" nothing but a new housing will help it.

Someone just wrote about finding the same thing.

I had pulled things apart and replaced the garter springs with new ones. In the process I damaged one of the bellows so I replaced that too. Things were good for a few weeks and then one started showing signs of leakage, AGAIN!

One of my NEW bellows was torn. Now, it might have been me when I installed it, but I doubt it. The new springs were a change-up from the existing and were VERY tight. So tight that I think they cut the bellows after a few hours of use. I put the old springs back on and so for everything has been clean...
