I had my cylinders bored and fitted with new pistons. When I sent it in, I left the Rave Valve assemblies attached to the cylinders.

When I got them back they were off the cylinders and completely disassembled. I have reassembled them according to the pictures in the shop manuals.

Questions

1) what is the o ring for and does it just slide on the rave valve shaft?

2) i screwed the black cap on the valve all the way is this correct?

3) the cap with the red center is the adjustment, how do you adjust these.....and should i, or leave them where they were set.

4) the rave valves out of my old 96 gtx were steel, the challenger has aluminuim, why the differance?

I am very happy with the machine work that was done, and the new wiesco pistons fit nicely. I just dont want to screw it up with the rave valves.

I am sure this topic has been discussed over and over and i have looked at the other threads. I would appreciate any and all help

Thanks!

Ok sanpan25,
1)Yes, the "o" ring goes on the shaft of the guillotine valve shaft.
2) Yes, the cap screws all the way down
3) Leave the red cap set where they are. Just make sure they are at the same setting.
4)Aluminum is lighter I'm thinking...and heat dissipation

Any more questions give us a shout...

Adjustment....

When the 96 model came out, the shop manual had that red cap set all the way down. Then, some years later, they came out with supplemental on adjusting them out to be flush with the black casing.
I've found that I have better low end power with the cap all the way down, but with it flush, for some reason, I get a bit of a hesitation. So, mine are all the way down......
