I have a 1996 GTX (787) and I replaced the Rave valves 3 weeks ago because one of the valves cracked (I noticed this when I cleaned it). The new valves are OEM slotted, the old valves were non-slotted.

I've run the seadoo the last couple weekends (3-4 hours each weekend). The Seadoo is running great. I just read in a post that if the engine has been bored that the Rave valves need to be ground to fit.

Since I got the seadoo used a couple years ago, I have no idea if the engine was ever bored, or if it was, how much over. At this point, what should I do? Wouldn't I have seen a problem by now, or should I immediately go check something?

Remove the head and inspect the pistons to see what size they are. If they are first over (.25mm) you're OK. If they are .5mm over, shave the valves by .005". Take .005" off for every .25mm they are over the first overbore.
