They get like that. Just clean it up and put it back together. Check the blades and make sure you get all the junk off them so they don't stick.

I’ve order a rebuild kit for them. Should be able to make them almost like new.

Running into a problem with that, I'm thinking about letting the RAVE scoop and housing soak in gas for a while. I cant get all of the carbon off the scoop. Stuff looks like its welded onto the scoop.

Scrape it with a razor blade and brake cleaner.

If you soak them in a zip lock bag with a little ammonia overnight, the majority of the carbon pretty much wipes right off. If it's really bad it may take a couple of soaks but so much easier.
