RAVE Housing Question

I am replacing my RAVE housings due to excessive clearance. Using the SBT version. I see that they have eliminated a pressure communication notch (see pointer below). I was thinking this notch was used to help route pressure sensing from the downstream face of the guillotine (just a guess). This new style relying exclusively on the small sensing hole and maybe some shaft leakage? Anyone familiar with this version?

That must have been a change that Seadoo made as the OEM housings I just bought are the exact same way. Bought em' in the bags for $30 a pop!

I wonder if it has anything to do with the slotted vs plain guillotines? My boat had plain guillotines, but was recently upgraded with new slotted guillotines.

Then.. the melt down of the RAVE pistons occured.
