Rave cap breaks at screw

I just rebuilt my rave valves and the cap that you screw the rave valve snapped the first time out. Is it possible to over or under tighten the rave to the cap to cause this problem? If not, any ideas?

i've never heard of the them cracking from over tighting. it could have been a few things. was it the orignal cap? did the bellows seal all the way?

Yes it was the original cap and appeared to be in great shape. The bellows are new and appeared to seal all the way. It is possible that I did not tighten enough.... I guess the vibration could have caused the thing to back out and then eventually snap at the neck?
