Hi All

Got the 95 running Great thanks to all the help from this forum....It really had very few issues but you guys helped me clear those up...:hurray:

Got one more thing i was concerned about. In rear of ski when idling it sounds like the impella ( hope thats right ) makes a rattling noise. It only makes it when idling...throttle it up just a tiny bit and sound stops....Bad impella or bearings ?..any advice be appreciated ...thanks... By the way we have never had jetskis before...hehe got wife on it and lost her for 45 minutes lol...she had a Blast...shoulda got these things a long time ago..ran it for almost 2 hours...acclerates very good ( as far as i know anyways ) keeps speed up and wife got it to 45 MPH in smooth water and said she still had throttle left its got 657x engine in it...no oil leaked anywhere at all in boat the smoking issue cleared up completly...only see a tiny bit when idling ( normal ? ) after 2 hours still 2/3 tank of fuel left and oil went down maybe 1 to 1.5 inches...we have pontoon boat and we carried Cell phones just in case of breakdown...but all seems good lol.

Glad to see that the seadoo is working and you all having fun on it.:)
The rattling noise is normal for most seadoo's. You might want to check the pump oil if you aren't sure if it hasn't been checked in a while or maybe never. Here is a way to change it too if you want some quick info.

If you look into the nozzle in the rear of the ski you will see a cone with 3 screws and an oil filler allen screw.

To change it,
1) Take off 4 13 MM bolts holding nozzle and 10 MM bolt holding steering.

2) Get something to catch the old oil in, drain pan or margarine cup etc.... (don’t forget the nose plugs, the oil stinks to high heaven)

3) Remove the 3 8 mm bolts holding the cone on.

4) Pull the cone and drain the oil out. Prop the front of the trailer up as high as you can to get most of it out.

5) Inspect the rubber “o” ring and if it is good apply silicon and reinstall the cone. Make sure the allen fill plug is on top.

6) Lower the front of the ski and add oil** to the cone. When it is full, take a brake and have a drink. There is air in the cone and when you go back you will see that it is low. Top it off and take another brake... do this until the fluid does not lower again. I often start the ski for a few seconds to make sure oil is all the way worked into the bearings and all the air is out.

7) Wipe silicon on the set screw and screw it in (be sure not to run it all the way into the cone. just deeper than flush is fine. Let it sit 24 hours to cure the silicon and put the nozzle back on.

**NOTE: Use Sea Doo 75w90 GL5 Synthetic Polyolester Oil

you could just pop the allen screw to check the level...it smells awful so plug your nose.

Thanks Karl i was a bit worried as the sound was loud...not deafing by any means but fairly loud when idling...it sounded like a bad bearing.........but ill almost bet its never been changed but ill do that tonight ...

oh and also when we were running it at the garage for 1st time we noticed a grey colored oil coming out from that area while it was running..coming out right below the cone it looked like...possibly bad O-ring ? might be better if we just replace it i have complete sets of O-rings up to 4 inches i believe....ill look at manual to get size just in case i might have it thanks...we smelled the oil when we touched it after we noticed it coming out but did not smell any bad smell ( habit to smell oil coming out of anywhere hehe ) ...we actually thought it might have been a build up of 2 cycle oil from sitting up for 2 years...but will check it all tonight ...thanks

If it was fresh pump oil it would have a real bad smell to it. Give us a shout if you get in a jam.
