rattle noise

I have a 96 challenger, I just changed the wear-ring and cone oil, after putting the pump back on the boat there seems to be a rattle when started. any thoughts?

A rattling sound in the jet pump area is normal. I had it on my XP before I swapped the wear ring, but it almost completely went away after I swapped the wear ring and several other parts back there. My Challenger sounds like a can of pennies, but runs great.

There is a cheap little kit you can buy to get rid of the rattle. It is like a spring and a washer, or something really simple like that. If I am not mistaken, it is mounted in the cone??? Maybe $15
