Anyone using ratcheting transom tie downs? Do you like them? Durability? Any issues with the intake on a jet boat vs location of the strap, thinking the suction unrolling the straps when loading and unloading.

For us, it would be one more thing to make loading and unloading just a little bit faster.

I also have Boat Buckles. Once you have them you'll wonder why you didn't get them sooner.

Well I ended up getting some Fulton stainless steel ones the Boat Buckle brand has a little nicer look but they were a good price. Don't really need stainless but I found them for 50 dollars because of damaged packaging. Seem like high quality and can't wait to try them out this summer.

I have some self retracting straps on my trailer and I find I have issues with them not retracting by themselves and sometimes they don't ratchet, but they are not Boat Buckle straps I think they are Erickson straps. I should try the Boat Buckle straps and see if they work better, It is pretty convenient having them mounted right on the trailer ready to go all the time....

I was originally going to get those but the Amazon warehouse deal changed my mind... Either way they have lots and lots of good reviews and with anything some negative. After lots of research, it seems all this style tie down used in water may need some occasional lubrication. Lubrication seems like a simple step and what others have said in this post convinced me, so I went with a set. Can't wait to try them out.

I used ratcheting straps for years. Then built a trailer from the ground up and went to Boat Buckles. Absolutely love them.

One thing I suggest with them. Every now and then pull them all the way out and spray everything down with fresh water. Let it go in and out while spraying it. This will flush and salt out of the mechanism.. Mine look and act brand new still...

I figured you can give em a shot of the Sea-Doo dispersion lube when you do the post use spray down & that should help, I also am nowhere near any salt…Montana.

Rinsing is always a smart idea. I tend to hit them, and the rest of the trailer, with corrosion X every 6 months or so. Great stuff.

I pick up a set of stainless steel Fultons, one time out and love them! Insanely easy and quick to use. Can't believe I didn't get these sooner!IMG_20180516_113051.jpgIMG_20180516_113100.jpg
