Hi Guys from NZ,

got a wierd one for you to solve. My 2007 C180 has developed an odd fault. The radio randomly starts and stops by itself. In or out of the water if the batt switch is on, out of the blue the local radio station roars into life at the most inopportune time. Checked the dash switch and its ok and pretty simple so figure maybe theres an intermediatte relay or contacter of some kind. Got me buggered and definitely won't leave the isloator on as the bloody thing kicked in at 4.30 am the other morning full bore and scared the hang out of me and the wife as it parks up just behind the bedroom window!

Pleeeze Help!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

Does it make a difference if you *turn off* the radio first when leaving the boat?
I know you said if the battery switch is on then the radio sometimes comes on by itself...is the radio knob in the "on" position?

Hi,

The radio has a push button "on-off" set up so hard to know if it is left in the on or off setup. I just throw the switch
on the dash once we are up and running so will try and remember to turn it off at the radio and see if it happens. Guess there could be some gunk on the back of the radio where the switch wiring enters maybe causing a short?
Cheers
Charlie
