My radio cover broke mid summer and I just got around to fixing it. As it seems to be a common issue I thought that I'd share how I fixed my particular problem. You can see the result in the attached picture.
I fixed it by drilling a hole into the side that was broken, then screwed a headless screw far enough into the cover that it fit into the housing. It doesn't stay open as well as it used to, but its better than having the head unit exposed to the elements.
I hope that this helps someone save some money by fixing their cover instead of buying a new one.
