Radio has been blowing the 10 Amp Accessory fuse under the steering wheel since we got the 2005 Chalenger 180 a couple years ago. There is a "radio" fuse next to it but for some reason, it seems the radio is wired on the accessory. Must be a mistake from the factory.
I noticed the accessory fuse would spark whenever i went to insert a new one. With a meter, I tested the two fuse ends and it had 12 volts across when the radio was disconnected; that meant their was a short in the system somewhere.
Scouring the internet, I found a note that the ICS was connected on the Accessory fuse. My ICS never worked anyways so on a hunch, I unplugged the ICS and now my radio works! yeah.
I hope this can help someone. I almost purchased a new radio assuming the short was inside.
next question, should I assume my ICS is not worth salvaging? It has a mess of wiring.
