Quick question about gear and impeller oil changea: risk of ruining seals?

Just got a 2002 Speedster, took it for test drive on Saturday and Sunday. Everything is working as advertised.
My question to you guys - i am leaving for 1 week vacation with a boat on Saturday.
Ideally i should change gear oil and impeller oil, but I afraid to mess some o-ring or gasket up so I won't be able to take it on vacation.
What is the risk of ruining a seal doing regular maintenance?

My other option to change it after vacation. I expect boat to be used 6-10 hours total while we on the trip.

I am wondering the same thing. I am at the point of pulling off the stator and havent out of worry i am going to screw up something. Let me know how yours goes :)

Did the gears portion (easy one). I feel like seller changed the gear lube recently. It was clear and blue, almost like brand new fluid.

Debating if I should do impeller since it should have been changed at the same time.

Bolts had steel blue washers under them. No seal to ruin.

Are you taking off the stator or just changing the fluid? If you are just pumping out the fluid it should be straight forward. When I first read your post I assumed you were pulling everything apart.

I'll good. When you pull off the stator/wear ring there are 2 gaskets. One small one for the cooling water and a big one that goes around the whole thing. I have not been able to figure out what holds the oil into the stator on the propeller shaft side. I know it's the impeller shaft but I can't figure out how it actually seals

also the manual says 2 different things on what to use on the threads when reassembling. So I am holding off until I figure out more

I was hoping your thread would get some more responses
