I know all the steps and have changed my RXP oil many times however this may be a dumb question.......where are you guys checking that the boat is level for a good oil reading? On the RXP I can use the rub rail bc its straight, the boat is all curved. If I put a level on the back platform it reads level but if I place it on the floor inside of the boat it reads differently and vise versa. It is enough to make the level on the dip stick move from the center to right below the upper mark. :ack:

Put a level on the engine cover. This should give you accurate info assuming the top cover lays flat on the engine.

Never thought of that, guess I could use the fuel rail as well. Guess I was overthinking it or have spent too much time hanging upside down working on this dammm engine and finding leaks. Ha

My thoughts were,,, if you want the engine level to use the engine. LOL

It is VERY easy to miss the simple things in life, especially when we are trying to figure out our own issues,,,

Lol that's true, it was driving me nuts bc all I ever worked on were ski's and used the same bumper method to get it level. I am just overly frustrated with this dam boat from taking it to and from the lake many times trying to fix everything only to find something else wrong. My wife will hear me screaming at it and she comes outside with a beer for me. Ha
