I took my boat to be serviced/winterized in the fall and when I left I asked if I needed to do anything to dewinterize and he told me just start it right up and let it run for a few minutes. I called back to make sure that was true the other day and another mechanic told me I needed to come in and have service done to it. So that made me really confused and the guy quoted me 70$. Another friend of mine said they only want to charge me to charge the battery...is there anything y'all can foresee that would need them to go back into it especially when I left the guy said all I needed was to start it?

When they serviced it they changed oil, filters and spark plugs and some other things...just looking for the opinion and if there is any danger of me starting the boat...

You are good to go.. SLOW charge you battery (without the wires connected to the boat) and then fire it up.

You want to run it for 1 minute or less. On the garden hose or off the garden hose, still 1 minute or less. When out of the water the Carbon Seal is not cooled as it is cooled by the water the boat is sitting in.

If you choose to use the garden hose, it goes like this. ENGINE on, water on, (run for about a minute), water off, ENGINE off... If you do the water first you can force the water into the engine where it will get sucked into the cylinders...
