quick carb/fuel line/wear ring questions

I found a guy that is going to do some work on my GSX and he said i have to buy the parts that I need. I have the old grey fuel lines so i am having him replace those and the carbs most likely clogged pretty bad. Do I need to buy a rebuild kit or can you just clean out the filters? My ski doesnt go over 4,000 RPM and can only get to like 15 MPH with full throttle. My ski also cavitates really bad when I have a passenger and also accelerates slow from stand still. So im pretty sure I need a new wear ring.

So I am wondering what I am going to have to buy for parts.
- I know I need new fuel lines. 25 feet of autozone fuel line. 1/4 inch right?
- Do I need a carb rebuild kit or can the mechanic just clean out the filters and stuff?
- New wear ring? they cost $65 so i dont want to buy one and find out the old one just needs to be adjusted or something.
- I also know that there is a tool that he will need to remove the impeller to get at the wear ring. I assume you need a special removal tool for seadoos. there isnt some different tool that will work that any mechanic will have?
Thanks in advance for any help

hey bigler, dont think wear ring's an issue, since you cant get over 4k. Look inside pump assy, and if any light, if blades look close to edge(wear ring0 your good. Carbs, if he's careful and DONT rip anything, then a can of carb cleaner will do the trick, while tearing them apart.
Think Scoop managed to remove the impellor with vise grips, and another member was able to remove the wear ring, without remove'n the impellor. Use a hacksaw blade or similar and will do the trick
btw..dont forget to get stainless hose clamps, also

ok. There is surely something wrong with the jet propulsion system because it has always had the problem with cavitation since I got it so I dont think there is something lodged in the impeller or anything. I think I will check my wear ring tomorrow. I hear you can just use a flashlight and see in there from the back, there needs to be no more than a 1/4 inch between the wear ring and the impeller. Ya and I should probably get those stainless clamps. I hear from someone that you can reuse the old ones but ill be a high roller and get new ones. how many do I need?

hey...dont know where this 1/4in clearance is com'n from, if thats the case, no one would have to replace the ring. Should be nomore than 1mm/.040. Around 25-30 clamps....good luck

Update

Ok so I bought the fuel line today and the clamps. It seems my battery is dead. I hooked up a diff one and it worked a little better but still couldnt get my ski to start.

I looked at the wear ring and it is hard to see if it needs a new one. It didnt look like a big gap to me. here are some pics I took but I dont know if they are clear enough. They are mega big for your viewing pleasure haha.

Tell me what you guys think. I dont want to buy a wear ring if i dont have to. My ski has problems accellerating especially when i have a passenger on with me. It sounds like it cavitates. Also when I start off from stand still, I cant go full throttle off the bat without it cavitating.

I dont know too much about the other parts of the jet pump so please explain in detail what else could be wrong. Im mechanically challenged about pretty much everything.

yeah I think the wear ring and impeller look fine. there is a little groove in the wear ring where the impeller comes to but it isnt more than a scratch worth.
I think I am just going to tell the repair guy to figure it out on his own whats causing the cavitation.
