hey guys im new here and i live in so california, i dont own a water craft right now but i have a friend with an 2005 RXP with a blown motor that im thinking of making him an offer for and i have no clue what im doing.

so if you guys can help i would apriciate it, what do you think i should offer for it? and what should a motor run me ? where can i find a motor ? will motors from other see doos work? should i go with a race motor ?

what would you do if it where you?

There are companies that offer re-manufactured engines. It might run you if you have a good old core of about 1500.00 when you done depending on what extra parts is needed to rebuild the core. If you get a race engine it will require lots of maintenance. If you mechanically inclined you might not be asking these types of questions...it will get expensive to have it done for you if you have no clue as you stated in your second sentence. If you need a project to play with getting running over the summer then it is a good thing to do. If you want to ride this season...pass...get something thats running.
This is just my personal opinion.

thanks karl

ya the dealer said a used motor installed would run 3000 and 2005 rxps are going for 6000 -6500 here with low hours, so it would only be a good deal if i can pick up for maybe $2,000 or less, what do u think?
