Hello,
This is a great site. I have not bought a SeaDoo just yet but was going to look at a 96 Challenger for $3000. Here is what I was wondering everyone can help me with.

- As a first time boat owner, is this for me?
- How heavy is the boat, I have a 94 Explorer Sport and was wondering if she would be able to handle it.
- What should I look for to make sure the boat was in good shape.
- The seats are a little messed up, would this be a problem? easy to replace/fix/cover?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam

Ok first and foremost no one on this site can tell if you the Challenger is for you. Only you can say I want or don't want this type of boat.

The boat is around the 1000-1200lb range and your Explorer should be able to tow it with no problem at all. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi and I can't even tell I am towing anyting so you should be good to go.

Make sure there are no stress or cracks in the hull that is pretty important. For $3000 you should expect that it might need a little work as that is pretty cheap for that boat.

The seats aren't a problem they can easily be reupholstered with no problem at all.

Only you can make the decision if this is what you want to buy. Good luck I just got a 97 Challenger a month ago and I traded a motorcycle for mine. He wanted $4500 for the boat. Mine really didn't need anything besides just a tune up and it was good and I did get a little use out of before the cold weather hit. Good luck!!

Thanks,
I have an appointment to look at it this weekend. I'm excited. Always wanted to get a boat and now I may be there. From what I'm told, only the seats need repair.
