PWC insurance

When I had one PWC on a trailer, I had liability only (50k)... now that I have two + trailer I want full coverage on them... I just can't stand to think of someone stealing them... if I found them they might need insurance from me... but thats another story.

Who's getting good rates from who here?

I have a '99 GTX LTD and a 2002 XP on a double trailer (load rite) that I just redid the bunks + $125 in LED lights so I never have to mess w/them again...

I go through progressive, and its not too bad, i have to have full coverage, since i am still paying off the doo's, but i get a discount for being a power squadron member.

holy crap, it's like $400 - $500 / year for full coverage on the 2 skis!

anyone else think that's a rip off?

And I can't do value of the skis, only ACV actual Case Value... there not worth that much, but I know progressive would screw me down to them being worth next to nothing if stolen...

any other companies?


Geico quoted me $175 for the GTX, prolly similar for the XP... thats slightly less...

well, you should try insuring brand new ones >.<, Some states don't require insurance on PWC's i believe, but i would not risk it. You can try farmers insurance, geico powersports, state farm, most of the major autoinsurers have a powersports division.

As far as I know PA doesn't require it, but now that i'm a bit older (27) and have assets like cars and a house, I just want coverage incase...

stuff is so expensive, car insurance, home / etc... can't win.

Tell me about it, i am 28, and have the same to worry about. I pay 240 every 3 months for my 2 ski's and the trailer.

I'm sticking w/all state, they ask less stupid questions...

$500 to cover my 26' boat and 2 jet skis.

Liability only on the skis, up to $50,000 in damage / etc...

$20,000 coverage on the boat...

if someone steals my ski's it will piss me off, if someone wrecks them it would ruin me i guess... i hate insurance... can't we all just get along?

I'm jealous, Australian insurers (only 2 that I know of) charge $650AUD per year for my 2005 RXP

I have insurance thru Progressive, 2 skis and a boat and it is like 40 bucks per month. I have friends in other agencies that say progressive is cheapest.

insurance is high in Canada considering we only have use of the ski for about 3-4 months of the year.. The remainder it sits in a locked garage. I pay $700+ for only one 2008 GTX plus trailer. because its brand new and we have it insured for the full replacement value, the premiums are higher than my car!! So, i'd gladly pay 4-500 for 2 skiis.
