i have an 07 challenger im adding (4) polk mm651um speakers, clarion m303 deck . will that deck be enough to power them speakers . anyone have just these speakers do they sound good without a kicker.

im thinking about getting a Polk Audio MM1040um kicker speaker just not sure if its needed its a boat but thinking about it if so im sure i need a amp if so do i need 1 just for kicker or do they make one that will power everything.

what else is needed for install thanks

Add the clarion remote to your helm. That mute switch is a godsend when having to communicate with your passengers.

I recently upgraded my boat's stereo and went with the following:

Polk DB 651 speakers under the rear bench
Polk PA D4000.4 amplifier
JL Audio M770 component speakers in the front bulkhead
Memphis Car Audio MOJO PRO tweeters (front bulkhead)
Kicker Comp 10" subs

The Kickers are powered by a 1000 watt Profile amp that puts out a continuous 480 watts bridged, so they kick pretty hard. The DB651s are perfect...and less expensive than the MM651s. They are waterproof and marine rated so don't think you have to spend the bigger bucks. I can't say enough good things about the JL Audio M770s, a truly incredible speaker. But what just kicks arse are those MOJO Pro tweeters...my God, they have to be heard to be understood! It took me a little while to get everything balanced out the way I like it, but I ended up with a really nice sounding system.
I run two batteries with one deep-cycle dedicated to the stereo system. If you do add an amp, as rcguy says...you'll want to add a second battery and switch so you can always have a fresh battery to start your engine. My system will drain the deep cycle in about 5 hours or so of continuous operation.

I already have speakers and deck just trying figure out what else I should do is there a amp that will do 4 speakers and a 10" kicker

Oh...sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were wondering about the speakers...anyway, yeah...in the open-air environment you have in your boat, I think you'd find adding a Polk Audio D5000.5 amp would be a tremendous improvement to the system. It's a good amp and reasonably priced.

Here are the specs:

PA Series 5-Channel Class D Car Amplifier
•4 ohms: 70 watts x 4 chan. + 200 watts x 1 chan. | 2 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. + 400 watts x 1 chan.
•Subwoofer Channel (1 ohms): 500 watts x 1 chan.
•High-speed MOSFET power supply
•Dimensions: 13-5/16"L x 6-3/4"W x 1-13/16"H

Good luck!

Do you have a wake tower? I have the same boat and a wired remote is nice..Installed one one the drivers dash and one on the swim plat form..depends on the stero but you can power up to 3 remotes..just get a spliter sold seperatly....I have two kicker 6.5 in the factory location then two on the wake tower....I would only run a amp if you install a sub... Your not not gonna get much boom pushing 6.5's.....but like said up top install a extra battery... should be a orange wire that powers your stero....I would switch from cranking battery to your extra battery...I installed my spare battery right next to my factory battery..cleaned the area a little 5200 and 4 small stainless screws(3/4 inch) there's a lot of solid fiber glass there...I'll send a pic when I get home..

My extra battery supplies my stero,2 blue led under water lights, the 3 factory deck lights, and about 7 small blue led accent lights...

yes i have a tower but for 2 reasons probably wont do tower speakers height and worrying about people stealing them . im probably going get the wired remotes actually thought about getting 2 just like you described. will the 4 speakers sound good without amp and kicker not sure if i want it bang like its at a club.

The new style wake tower speakers snap on and off really easy...I only put mine on when I'm about to head out...plus there not exposed in the elements all year round...they are out of the walk way on the sides so there basically out of everyone's way...I love the sound of it...sounds nice and clear with out a amp...if you go any bigger then the 6.5 I would install a amp...

The tower is factory that came with the boat 07 seadoo challenger 180 se... The pic above is it in the garage before I installed all parts except the anchor light. I mounted a anchor light up top and wired it into my factory switch..it's so much nicer then stoping and installing it right in the walk way...just hit the switch and its on... In about a week or so I'll get everything out and put it back together after it warms up...the Bimini, tower, seats, speakers I take all off for winter....but I'm gonna start setting back up soon...starting to get that itch...I'm ready for boat season...

I would add more speakers, wake tower speakers if you can are great and sound very loud connected to a amp. I have 2 - 10 inch subs and honestly they are not needed. You hear some bass but the speakers in the boat and tower speakers do the job just fine. My next boat wont have a sub and if it does, it will only be 1.

I have 4 of the PolK UM 6.5's in the boat and 4 more on the tower. I also have 2 of the Polk 10" subs. The whole system is powered by a single JL amp. The UM have been great speakers. I'm very happy with them. I would use an amp for sure, just using the head unit to power them will sound pretty weak, especially if you want to hear it outside the boat or while moving.

hi what amp do you have

You can't go wrong with a Blue Seas #9001e in my opinion. Attwood and of course Perko make good switches, too. Blue seas offers a wiring kit to help simplify the task. You can surface mount or flush mount depending on where you decide to put the switch. Not being familiar with your boat, I can't offer a suggestion...hopefully others who have done this will chime in. Do you have an idea of where you'd like it?

i ordered 4 speakers,deck,1 polk kicker anyone know a amp that will work good with this setup with out getting crazy

JL M700. If you run the speakers in parallel (2 per channel) You get 100 watts to each speaker and 300 to each sub. Works out perfect for my setup/ A Bit pricey but considering it runs 10 speakers, its worth it.

Hello... I installed an all Marine JBL system in my 06 challenger and it's amazing... Four JBL speakers, 4-channel JBL amp and a JBL subwoofer with a Kenwood deck

Not if you want good clean sounds while the boat is under way. I added 4 Polk and 4 8 inch 2 way Rockford Fosgate with 2 Jul audio amps and 1 12 inch subwoofer. Clean and loud at any speed. The minimum you will need is an amp. That's a need not a luxury. Your speakers will be toast in one summer without an amp. Under powering them is how they blow. I recommend jl audios marine amps. Very powerful.
