Hi guys,
I have my new 2007 c180 finally and after cleaning all the transit dirt off decided to give it a test run. Put the dess on - beeped twice, the dash lit up and then 4 beeps every few seconds - All good so far.

Next I get brave and push the start button - Nothing !!!!!! A few more pushes - still nothing but I can hear a fuel pump or something activate. I'm still getting the 4 beeps but I take off the dess and replace it - Try again and zoom! It fires up. I tried it off and on a few more times and all good.

Last night i decided on the big test in the river. Test started - fired up good - off to the river and put it in - pushed the switch- nothing- oh Sh#@! pulled the dess and tried again - a couple of pushes and zoom - motor ran pretty sweet. A very slight surge under idle but no hesitation at all under throttle .
Is this starting hickup common? i've read the dess can play up but the 4 beeps were still going on so i'm a bit stumped.

Any suggestions or just teething problem?
Thanks from New Zealand

Starting issue

I've got an 08 Speedster 200 and from time to time that has happened as well. I've read and re-read the manual figuring it was something simple I was missing. Nope.

The only thing I can think of is the "connection" ins't engaged. Makes no sense and still runs like a raped ape so I'm good !

I have a 08 200 speedster and never had any problem like this... It could be the dess post is maybe dirty or not getting a good connection in the wiring somewhere. The 4 beeps tells ya that it is has the dess lanyard in place it souldn't be there except when its ready to run. For the surge, try replacing the spark plugs.
