That's weird isn't that "your" property? I own an automotive repair shop and once in a while I will get a customer who asks for the old parts either to scrap or show wife. I always give it to them since it is theirs. The dealer might sell the old one off and make even more money.

Thanks for the reply - is there any way to fix this without replacing everything? Kinda annoying since I only put a few hours on the ski before this happened...

Not that I know of.... I have searched and found nothing short of a replacement unit. Also be aware the unit has to be flashed with proper software to match your year etc. and then married to the unit using the dealers BUDS system or the CanDoo Pro system.

Talk to the dealer. I realize he said no warranty, but maybe you can get some help there??? Us the fact he kept the old SC as leverage maybe???

Agreed. Weird...but he wanted to keep the old one since we bargained on the price of the ski so much (that's what I understood from our conversation at least). Now, how much should I expect to fork over to fix/replace the gauge cluster? :(

^ Thanks for the reply guys, just saw it. I will try to use as much leverage as I can since I literally got the ski a week ago...I realize these things happen esp since the ski sat for almost 10 years but it is slightly frustrating to say the least...I just really hope they can at least get this fixed soon since there is a 4 week back-up wait period at this marine currently.

And xintersecty : I see you're in West Union. I'm in Clemson...just wondering if you do all your own work or use a dealer for any work and have any recommendations...I'm no mechanic. I will look into the candoo

Either way I feel like you got a pretty good deal with the amount of hours on the ski plus you don't have to worry about the washer issue anymore.

So we have a geography. Did you go to strickland? It's where I bought my skis. So I do my own work as much as possible. It will take a lot for me to sub out or pay somebody. Mostly it's that self-sufficient mountain boy in me and mostly I don't trust paid mechanics. In a way working mechanical is a hobby for me. I have my own limitations as a mechanic as I don't turn wrenches 24x7.

So I recommend the candoo that way you can do your own work. If you find that not to your liking then pay the dealer and let's go riding on keowee. The candoo was worth it for me I have three seadoo products
