Hey i was wondering if anyone has pulled or pulls any of the wego or manta ray kite tubes and where they pull from i hear that the pull up tube on rear hatch wont handle alot, but the hook on the hull of boat/ u bolt looks kinda tincy.. anyways ive towed a 96 inch diameter tube all last season on the pull up tube without hearing any different or having any problems.. also what length of rope did you use? my regular is roughly 70 -75 ft to get outta the rooster. thanks

p.s the only thing real nice about the pull up ski poll is its higher up i wish i had an x20 or wake tower i just cant really afford one of those considering i just got done rebuilding any other suggestions welcome thanks

The ski pole is meant for just that, people on skis. If you tow a tube, there is a lot bigger contact patch on the water and the drag is a lot higher. You will eventually bend the pole. The lower tow hook is for tubes. Also, look into a tow rope called the booster ball. It is great for tubes. It has a big inflatable ball that keeps the rope off the water.

i will definitly do that thanks. ill give a check on ebay, the water in the face can and does spoil alot of rides. I tried bringing my girlfriends mother out on the big tube and she was blinded by the rope bouncing up and down and says it was probably her first and last time on a tube. lol

I thought those flying tubes were outlawed due to deaths and severe injuries due to stupidity flying them up around 20 ft or so

If those are the tubes Koby is talking about, then YES they were banned. no one can sell them.
IDK if you can still use them if you already had one.

they are sold through ebay and craigslist i know they are very dangerous have watched lots and read lots but..... lots of dots..... we are going to be careful we wont be going full throttle and if conditions dont permit we wont go out we have a cottage in the thousand islands and i saw 1 out last year we can use them in the st lawrence river as far as i know up here in new york state.

yeah as long as your safe with it, it looks like a lot of fun just dont get any of those " i wonder how high this thing can fly maybe we should hook it up to the wake tower " ideas

....... i know they are very dangerous

I wasn't going to chime in... but that's the problem right there. They are unpredictable. I've seen vids where they were hardly off the water, and then someone shifts, and they pop up 40 feet. The natural response is to slow down, but then you loose your lift, and they "Tip Stall" and roll.

They look cool as hell... but people get hurt on them. AND... since they have been OUTLAWED, if you get someone hurt on it... your insurance will not cover it!!

I had one of the sevlar manta rays. It's the coolest thing. But yes ver dangerous. They take a lot of power to get out of the water. I had a 210hp prop boat and that was just enough. I'm interested to know if a seadoo boat would even pull it out of the water. We tried it on my buddies boss with a 170hp inboard outboard and ended up blowing his engine trying to get the kite up.

Also it's not about the speed at all. You need some wind. If you don't have any. You will have to go to fast to keep it safe ish lol. But ya after a little bit of time. I was doing laps of the lake looking down at everyone from 20 feet up. Needless to say I had an army of boats following us to catch a glimps.

I had to pull at 43 MPH full throttle with 5 other passengers to get 175 pounds up Max 12 15 feet at times there was no wind at all will try with some wind as weather will provide it
