I hope this hasn't been addressed before, I couldn't find anything after an hour of searching.
As I was winterizing I noticed a small amount of oil around the base of plug #2....#3 was dry. When I put the socket on #1, I was concerned so I brought it out to use it like a dipstick and there was about 3/8" of oil around the base of the outside that plug indicated by the socket.
This is a 2004 Sportster 155 4-Tec that that I bought used recently and ran fine when I took it out of the water.
I check the oil level regularly and have not noticed any unusual reduction in the oil level. Until I can get the oil in #1 sucked out I am reluctant to take it out. Number 2 and 3 felt properly torqued and the crush washers looked ok..
Not sure but the spark plugs look older than a season.
Has anyone seen this and know what I'm looking at here. Wish me luck, it is feeling like it could get expensive...
