Problem with my audio system

Hi guys,

A week back I noticed my 2 stock speakers were not working, so I bought a new set (4 speakers) and replaced all 4.

First time trying them out, they sound good but noticed the 2 right speakers are much "lower" in sound than the 2 left ones.

Install was at the dealers, and the dealer states it's because of the headunit/system. Not the speakers themselves.

Any suggestions?

What could be the problem?

How do I figure it out?

Do I just change the head unit?

The new speakers are 150w Jensens.

Usually it's something internal you can't fix. I would just swap it out. You can find some nice ones for under 200. I have no idea why you would change speakers though and buy Jensen. What a waste of money. Just out of curiosity, how much did those 4 speakers cost you?

Could also be a grounding issue with the speaker wire itself somewhere, especially if only certain speakers are acting up. I would test the wires for an amperage loss which could indicate a wire rubbed through somewhere and is grounding out causing the problem you describe. I had this happen once when I accidentially ran a screw through a wire harness I did not know was behind what I was working on.

Just rip the lot out & put the good stuff in... I'll guarantee you'll do it sooner or later.

I agree...may be. Issue with the head unit. Swap the two front ones for the two rear ones and see if the problem follows the speakers. If it does then it's obv the speaker...if it doesn't then prob the head unit. I just reinstalled wake tower speakers...you should def do that!!
