I just bought a 1996 seadoo sportster. I m having a problem with the deck post getting power, where the key would sit. The fuses in the boat are all good. I even lost power to the blower motor, and the lights. Any ideas where I should look first. help...

If you lost power to the post and the accessories, I would start basic. Check to make sure you have a good battery and all the connections to it are good.

Were you playing with the wiring with the battery hooked up? Did you have a charger hooked to the battery, and try to start it?

The MPEM in these boats are very fragile... and it doesn't take much to kill it.

Sounds like maybe you have the same issue that I ran into... corrosion in the fuse block connector...ie. where the wire bundle enters the fuse block just forward of the steering wheel. Everything looked fine, the fuses were good... but no power on some items. Unplugged the connector and saw that some pins were corroded completely through. Couldn't find a new fuse block, so I ended up bypassing the wiring in the connector and running my own wires for the effected circuits.

Ok the battery is good to go, and the grounds are tight. Where would the MPEM be located. how did the bypass work. never had to do anything like that.

MPEM is in the grey box behind the driver's seat, accessed from the engine compartment.
Fuse block is under the steering wheel. Open the hatch over the steering wheel, take out the bin, black fuse block is just inboard of the steering assembly. see this post: http://www.seadooforum.com/showthre...996-Challenger&p=325065&viewfull=1#post325065
