On our race 800 LTD… we put the return line at the bottom of the hull ( below the carb) and run our “T” from there.
This way there always is fuel in the line and the primer before you want to prime,

Id put the fitting on the cab out of the ski and put in everything else in while the carb is out then hook everything back up with the primer, make sure you don't put the primer source on a main line, use something like the return line.
I wouldn't bother as they all fail in a year or two.
If you can't get the ski to start with the choke something is wrong so fix that instead of a primer.
