I have a problem with one of my water toys. Not a jetski, but it's got an engine and a water pump so I figured you guys would know.

2500 PSI PRESSURE WASHER, 2.5 GPM 5.5HP HONDA GX ENGINE

There is a slow drip of water from the pump head (Part #25) but the bigger problem is that there is slow leak of water into the pump oil (pump NOT engine) and oil/water mix is leaking out the oil fill plug (part #50). There is a small vent hole in the plug the oil is leaking out thru.[/TD]

I ordered the Water Seal Kit (Part D). Does that seem correct to stop the water leak into the pump oil or do I need the oil Seal kit (Part C) ?

Also, one of the pump pistons has some very mild surface rust, how should I clean that off so that it doesn't ruin the new seals. I wasn't sure how aggressive I could get without creating minute scores that would leak. is 600 grit sandpaper OK?

I would replace all the seals to be safe.

I wouldn't use any sandpaper on the pump. It may be too aggressive. I would use a green scotch-brite pad to polish the parts.
