98 sportster 1800. The premix system is working fine as of now but I have Hurd good and bad things about them. Was woundering if I should use a block off kit and just remove system...and if so would oil some how lube the bottom block. Or does the premix system even do that.

You need to lube the rotary valve if you drop the oil pumps. Most people keep the oil tank just for the roaty valve. Why do you want to remove the oil injection? They are very reliable if you changed the pump injection lines and filters as recomended. 2 Engines burn a lot of oil at 50:1 or 40:1 all the to time whatevery seadoo recomends for per-mixing.

I was told by sbt and some other compines that it would be better if I removed it. They say they seen plenty of engines go bad due to the system failing. I prefer it but I'm new to this boat. Just thought I would really find out by the people who drive them. What lines are you talking about replacing after oil filter. Just the plan lines that are there? What else should I watch and and service besides plugs n filters n carbs?....thanks for the help...

very rarely do the actual pumps go bad, people loose oil lines due to age and lack of maintenance and blame it on the oil pump. SBT prolly just said that because its a sure way on making sure the oil pump doesn't fail but then you introduce the human error factor of "did i add the right amount of oil? or forgetting to add oil period!"

its the really small lines(3/16) from the pump to intake that usually shrink, split or just fall off. Almost everyone one on the board here will tell you to keep it if your pump is still good and on the engine.
