i just read that if u premix and dont use oil injection then the rotary valve isnt getting any oil,,is this right?i have a 98 xpl and it is premixed,,dont wanna burn somethin up,,please let me know

Yes... that is absolutely true, and is death to a lot of engines. We see it all the time here were people go pre-mix... remove the oil tank... cap off all the hoses, and the roast the rotary valve gears. Then, they get pissed off saying that companies shouldn't sell the block off kits. (like it was the block-off company's fault)

With that said... your 98 XPL has a 951 engine... and it doesn't have a rotary valve. (The only seadoo 2-stroke without one) It's a reed engine... so... you are fine with removing the oil tank.

to doc,,very sorry to have posted this twice,,i honestly dont remember bein on the "boat side" at all,,,i will be more carefull,,and thank you you for the info on the reed system versus the rotary valve,,i really do appreciate all the help and dont want to piss anybody off,,thanx, troy
