intermittent loss of power, and general low power. The plugs are tan and i beleive the motor is running well. This is my first pwc, but not my first toy. What are the normal problems with older seadoos??? Impeller problems??? Is the clearance between the prop and housing crittical??? What is the spec....

The simptoms are: Intermittent bog at low speeds, low top end, chutter at low speeds, general low power.

Help please.

Welcome to the seadoo forum 4by4. The power loss might be carburetor problems. What is the compression of the cylinders? The impeller wear ring clearance is critical that if it has too large a clearance it will loose thrust, and allow the rpm's to raise and not push enough thrust to power forward. The clearance is 0.035 mm or.014in. use a 12" feeler guage at the center of the blade of the impeller, measured from the venturi side. Let us now if we can help any more.

.014in between the center of the blade and the case. I have like .100 or so. Do you know if the 94's came with a wear ring like the 96 and up??? I can't find any part breakdowns for under 1996.
thanks

I have the same problem for parts. I would contact a seadoo dealer and order direct from them so as to not guess at the part number. The wear ring should cost about $65.00 usd. Keep us posted on you progress.

thanks again Karl
I'll give it a go.

Is this a common thing to go(wear ring) all at one time? I don't see any parts left behind or gouges etc. to indicate a problem. (Its nice to actualy see the problem your trying to fix!!!)

As sand and debris passes through the impeller of the jet pump it does it's intended job of wearing the sacrificial ring rather than the $250.00 pump assy.
