Welcome to the seaforum Dan. Here is some information on the timer;
Timer Verification;
The timer is integrated into the MPEM. Always confirm that the fuses are in good condition. To confirm operation of timer, remove the safety lanyard from switch. After 5 seconds delay, depress start/stop button once. The timer should stay on for 33 seconds (for example, the gauge(s) will be activated) and than turn off.

If it is the timer it is built into the MPEM,( Multi Purpose Electronic Module)and might need replacing to correct the problem.

if that is what the problem is, you might wanna save 500 bucks for an mpem and install a switch between battery and electrical system.

Mine is older than yours but mine has a guage relay and it used to stick and drain my battery maybe you have a simular problem but I am no pro so good luck. :cheers:
