potter and brumfield relay

i have a 92 xp that i am currently working on as there was water in the fuse box. Most of the components were corroded/rusted and one of them were the connections to the mpem with 2 potter and brumfield relays go. I cannot find the exact part online as the part# shows 2 prongs instead of the one that i have. These are 12vdc, 40 amps. Can anyone tell me a) what these are used for and b) anyway to do a cross-reference to see what i can use instead? thanks
