ok, I always bought marine Spray 9 in the gallon size for 19.99 from a mom and pop local boat shop... Here, no such luck, West Marine is a rip off for even the 32 oz sized bottles, so I went researching and found out I can purchase this by the case of 4 one gallon bottles which breaks down to a bit less than 15 a jug and free shipping...
Yup, Amazon...

My wife.. she's pretty awesome. Sorry had to.

Most of the 3M products are pretty good and they can be had for cheap at Amazon.

I started using Super Clean after hearing all the chatter about it on this forum. It works well, is inexpensive & doesn't leave an after smell like some of the other engine cleaners. On the hull, I have used CLR & Lime away. Spray it on & let it soak. Takes a while on nasty residue, but doesn't harm the gel coat or decals in my experience. Super clean may possibly damage fragile things like the decals as it does have a light amount of cleaning acid in it.

I don't think super clean will do much of anything on pond scum. Its more of a degreaser than anything. CLR & lime away break down the deposits I believe your referring too.

well, a buddy of mine has a grady white fishing boat, way too big to fit in garage, he keeps under a carport and covers with a tarp, when he gets mold on seat and storage covers, he uses tilex , he swears by it, anyone else ever try it ???

Gotta be Super Clean.....

Lou

Yep... best thing out there. Just don't get it on your hands for too long. It will turn your nail beds purple.

I have that to, but a little nervous to use that on the hull for the scum lines and the purple jiuce is n`t aluminum friendly...

I don't use it on the white gel. The die could stain.

The best thing on the white, to get rid of ALL SCUM..........

A mix of toilet bowl cleaner, and peroxide. (about 75:25) It will melt off anything, and bleach out the rest. I buy the cheap stuff at the dollar store.

As far as the interior..... I try to keep it clean with soap and water. But Tilex is good. A magic eraser is VERY good. AND, if you have very moldy vinyl... you can put acetone on a CLEAN WHITE TOWEL and it will melt the the junk out of the vinyl.

BEWARE: The acetone will destroy the vinyl !!!!!!!! DO NOT pour it onto the seat !!! just wet the towel and wipe in one direction. Turning the towel to keep a clean side down. It will evaporate quick, so you will have to wet the towel often. Needless to say, this is not an everyday cleaner. This it to revive seats that may otherwise be scrap.

Oh.... Acetone is also good on the gel to get rid of scuff marks !! (you can't hurt the gel)

And finally, Zippo lighter fluid is good to remove "Goo" from stickers or old glue. It also works very well to get rid of mildew on the handlebar pads.

I have used Tilex before and did not like it. It works good on mildew but be very careful that it does not start to dry or sit very long on anything that has a shine to it. It will fade the colors quickly on vinyl too. Tilex is basically chlorine and harsh detergents mixed, which makes it corrosive on porous surfaces and does not play nice with aluminium . This is not good if you get overspray or dripping on dark coloured carpets and fabrics, the chlorine will eat through the color.

O.K., I know you guys are gonna laugh, Lemon Pledge, I use it after every time I ride, also use it on the boat. I still do a through cleaning in the spring but use the lemon pledge in between. Try it!

Wait a second, do you have wood grain on your ski? Lou, Actually what do you use it on?

For those who like Super Clean.....

I went to Wally Mart to buy it (the only one item I regularly buy there) and I see they have on "New lower price" at only $7 a gallon.
Purple Power is at $4.98 a gallon but for 2 bucks I'll stick with SC.
:)
