Hello all, it’s been a while. Still have the ‘99 challenger.
Yesterday after about an hour on the water with both engines running great the port side engine decided to cut right out. It started right back up and runs great as long as I kept the rpm below 5k. It seemed to run fine until I demanded speed or acceleration then it would cut right out sometimes it lets the rpm get to about 6k before cutting out clean like the dess has been pulled. I just replaced fuel filters before ride. No recent carb work. I’m going to clean the rave valves today. Any other ideas???

Check compression first to determine engine condition.

From there yes, sounds like carbs. Only use genuine Mikuni parts and new needles and seats.

Fixed it last week… faulty WIX inline fuel filter. Restricting flow and causing it to cut right out upon high fuel demand.
I saw faulty and not plugged because the filter was only used 2-3 hours and looks clean.
