I just ordered a Poppy cover for my 99 speedster but the trouble is, I have a monster tower too. Does anyone think I could add some metal slide release buckles and cut a notch for the tower legs? I'm also assuming the OEM Bimini top will fit under the cover? Below is my boat and a link to the buckles I am thinking of. If you have a better Idea I would be very interested and grateful to hear it!

I know there are other people who have made it work... but a poppy has a ratchet strap around it... so, if you cut into it... that strap will have to be removed.

I dont mean to sound smart but I know that I'll have to cut the strap. Thats why I included the link about these buckles.

Do you think these will be strong enough for the ratchet to tighten?

Did you tell terri at poppy about your tower? im thinking she can get it made to work for you. the covers they make for the bigger boats with a tower are great. Mine fits like a glove, It has buckles just like those and each spot where it goes around the tower has a flap with velcro on it.

I have had these on my trailer for 6 years and they are only plastic and work fine. On the poppy site it does show a boat with a tarp with the tower installed, but cant zoom in close enough to see how they did it. They also did mention that on the challenger they put the cover over top of the bimini top, so I assume it will work with the speedster.

No, I didnt mention it in the order. I figured they would need the boat in person to make it work. I was planning on trying it myself and if it got to complicated then take it to the upholstery shop that redid my seats.

Thanks for the insight on the buckles!
