I had read in some older threads (tried to post in one but was closed) some people were concerned about the Poppy cover having the ratcheting tensioner on one side of the cover that did not avail it to easy on/off when docked on a single sided slip. I just got my new Poppy cover today for my Speedster 200 (Tower) and noticed that Poppy now places the tensioning ratchets smack dab in the center at the rear of the cover. They are still contained in a nice zip up enclosure. They also appear to be stainless steel metal. I am VERY pleased with the quality of this cover and it protects against water intrusion much better than the factory one did due to the way it goes over the top of the side bars. The plastic reinforcements at the mooring cleats is a nice touch too.

On a side note, I have my factory cover I will sell on the cheap if anyone is interested. It makes a great SUN cover, just not the best for keeping the interior dry in the winter.

Yeah they just updated them and are using new thicker fabric. I'll probably be ordering one in the spring in black. Someone was posting pics of a new black one on the Facebook boat forum.

you say they have a ratchet is it a strap ? in the perimeter pocket and how to they address opening at the sippers at the tower bases ?

Yes it has a full perimeter strap at the bottom. At the 4 tower points there is a vertical slit in the cover and buckles in the perimeter strap. The slits then overlap and secure with Velcro. This part is very similar to the factory cover, but it is of much higher quality. It is a very nice setup.
