so i took my boat (2006 Challenger) to an island nearby and anchored up for the day and of course when i go to leave boat wont start. it sounds like its turning over but just wont fire up. its like its right there but just wont start. so i call sea-tow get towed in and the next day i replace the spark plugs. once that is done of course the engine fires right up. this was july 4th weekend. i take the boat out yesterday starting it at least 5 times in the driveway, no problems, dump it in the water, same thing. i take a drive about 45 min to a restaurant. about 2.5 hours go by and of course it doesnt want to start. after trying for about 10 min i took the ignition coils on and off and finally after that it barely started for me to get home......do i have bad coils? does anyone else have this problem? someone please tell me this is an easy fix.

How is your battery? I know it may be charged but maybe its not enough to crank the engine well? Have it load tested to see if its in spec. Starting in water puts more strain on the starter than out of the water.

Yea battery is fine....was replaced last season and I always turn the power off when it's not in use

I would followed pwgsx advice on load testing the battery. It could be a charging issue as well. Also when you get into this position, I sometimes have to start the boat with the drive forward and the throttle advanced. Make it's tied down good. It could be an issue with injectors, coils, charger, battery....and no this is not going to be an easy fix.

Last year I had a start issue (cold not hot) and it took me about a month to figure out.

Check your tank bleeder, if it's not letting the gas fume out, it will dumb gasoline in the explosion chamber.

Just took te cover off to see if she would start after sitting all night and of course it started right up??!??? This boat is killin me!

I have the same issue, when I dock the boat and rocks allot because boat passing by, it won't start. Needs to take out the spark plugs and clean the spark plugs and it will start right away.
