I verified I have fuel pulsating out of the fuel pump and into the carb but it doesn't want to start.

This tells me its NOT the fuel selector switch (correct?) I was going to change this next but if fuel is making it to and out of the pump I should be ok??? Not the fuel filter (correct)???

I had the carbs rebuilt a month or so ago complete with needle and seat so I guess it could be something with the carb but I doubt it.

What else could be the reason it wont start BESIDES the carb if fuel is flowing in ok?

I pulled the battery and have that on a slow charge right now, I plan on trying again tomorrow with a fully charged battery. Maybe I'll toss in some new plugs as well. The ones in it now were sitting all winter in it.

What else???

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOU HELP - I'VE HAD ALOT OF ISSUES WITH THIS THING AND THE FORUM HAS BEEN WONDERFUL EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

First thing you have to remember is just because you see fuel does not mean it is enough or on the same note too much fuel.......You need to make sure you have spark also you can buy a inline spark tester for around $5-$10, It is always good practice to also check your compression, also is it cranking over but just will not start? does it cough and try to start or nothing?

I did use an inline spark tester to verify spark - sorry, I forgot to include that. I do have good compression (that was checked by the guy that did my carbs)

When I crank it I heard it cough and try to start but then it stopped doing that and would no longer try.

This was using full choke, then half choke and then no choke and giving it some throttle why pushing the start button.

I'll see what new plugs and a fresh battery do for me. Is it possible I have an air leak in a check valve or something??? I have all new fuel lines by the way too.

with good charged battery, crank it over "hold'n" the throttlw wide open. If too much gas, then atleast, with hold'n open, the air aint get'n restricted by the butterflies.

I think your carb/s are outta wack/leak'n at needles or wrong spring in n/s assy.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I guess I didn't realize until now but my inline spark tester is just making sure I have spark UP TO THE PLUG not testing the actual plug itself.

I would assume that my carbs are ok as the ski started just fine on the trailer when I went to pick it up after getting the carbs done. I had a new needle and seat and gasket set put in. It was done by a very trust worthy person a month ago so I would assume he did it correctly - like I said - it did start on the trailer perfectly after getting the carbs done.

I'll try a fully charged battery and new plugs tonight. If that still doesn't do the trick I'm not sure what I'll do next. Maybe put a few drops of gas into the carb itself.......

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

I ended up putting a fresh charge on the battery and changing the spark plugs and that seemed to do the trick. When I pulled the plugs the ends were black.

I took it out for a water ride yesterday and it seemed to be ok. It was a little sluggish at times and slow to react when I would give it full throttle - but it ran!

thanks everyone!
