Hey all. I'm going to plasti dip my wake tower on my 2008 challenger 230 se...anyone have experience/tips? Going to se the spray paint cans and use a big tarp to cover the rest of the bowt. Going with the matte white...my boat has the blue and white hull as well as se me color interior. Was going to use rust oleum spray can paint...but the plasti dip is rubber...so I figured it will flex with the wake tower and not chip off also I can just peel it off if I don't like it . Good idea or just use the rust oleum spray paint?

I feel it will make the boat that much better looking. The factory aluminum looks great...but i think that having it a matte white will def make the boat pop a lot

Take it apart, and send it out for anodizing... if it's aluminum. (that would look great!!)

I've used Plastidip over the years... and it always looks bad after a while. It will pick-up dirt. SO... white will start to look bad in short order.

This or powdercoat. Plastidip won't last long on a boat, and if rope rubs across it, peel it right off.

I agree with the previous posters that plastidip would probably rub off fairly quickly on a rack (however you can also repair it pretty quickly), I would kinda like to hear how it holds up to the salt and boat-cleaning chemicals. Given how it reacts to gasoline and thinners, I wonder what kind of damage salt-away or simple green would do to it.

Well I decided to go ahead and get a few cans of the matte white plasti dip spray. I live in NYC so currently it is pouring. First nice day I will take before during and after pictures and post up a nice review. Will also take pictures of it through out the season and months/year. I've been reading up a lot on stuff. Seems not only very promising but also very inexpensive. Btw to wash is all is needed is simple green or some other chemical wash. I can even power wash it with no worries of the plasti dip coming off.

The good thing about Plasti-Dip is that if you don't like it, it peals off easy. I used the matte black on my rims on my golf and they look great, clean off easy and patch up well.
