Would anyone be able to grab a pic of there in hull factory depth sensor - I wanted to see it to specifically see where I should place mine. I would think the factory put it in the optimal location? Please and thanks!

I have searched the forums and have not been able to find a pic of the factory in hull sensor. Thanks!

Looks like it's located on the starboard side of the motor. Slightly angled part of hull based on bottom of cup. Hopefully someone can post an actual pic.

Is there anything there presently? Empty cup?

Thanks so much JPass, I will have my boat tomorrow or Friday and Check. Looking for an actual pic. I wonder if anyone has ever done a thru hull transducer. Have to be braved to drill a two inch hole in your boat.

Show us a pic of what you are trying to install. You want the transducer as level as possible and you want it where the water is the least turbulent under the boat (away from drive line components).

I believe if you get it near where the diagram has it, you'll be good. Usually you can wrap a plastic bag filled with water around the transducer and place it in the hull to check for interference and also to see if the readings are somewhat accurate. You can move it around while doing so to find the optimum placement of the unit before permanently mounting it to the hull.

Ours is located on the port side of the engine bay about 18" aft of the fuel tank.

And it's just a depth finder so there is no GPS in the unit. I use a downloaded app to the phone if I want to check speed against the speedo or something needing a GPS.
