Pet peeve

This forum is a wonderful thing. When I bought my Seadoo boat last summer I knew nothing about jet boats or jet skis. My 2001 Challenger ran great when I got it and still does. I've learned a great deal of valuable information in here that has helped me keep my boat in excellent running condition.
One thing that really annoys me is the guy who joins the forum only when he has a problem. You all know one of these guys. He asks his question, gets the answer he needed, and then makes like Houdini. He doesn't have the courtesy to reply back with the results. It's not that anyone is looking for a thank you just the root causes and end results. That way a person can search this forum and get good answers, without spinning their wheels too much.

I agree, the purpose of this forum is for people to help other people and without knowing the outcome it kinda defeats the purpose.

I also hate it when people refer to their skis as sleds or bikes.

While we're at it, people who won't give their location in their profile and use USA, World, etc. Also people who won't put their watercraft in their profile.

first, yesterdee Ma let the back door hangin wide open when she cum in from the outhause and a whole damn flock a them kudos comes a wanderin inta the trailer. Ole Duke is a chasin em and they is jist a makin a terrible mess everywhere so I is jist trying ta give kudos away ta everbudy. n now the wife is pesterin me, she says all her frends gots them there pet peeves and she wants ta go over to the walmart and git her one too. she says they is jist all furry n cuter then a duck wearin a hat.

My issue is with the kids who come onto this site think they are TXT'ing to their buddies. Piss poor spelling, no punctuation, slang words, and NO PUNCTUATION !!!!!!


As you can see... punctuation tops my list.

All we have is words here... so if you want help... make it easy on they guys try to help.


And I'm not even going to mention Kudos. (lol)

Yup, i kinda hate the txting 4mat myself, tho i'm guilty of doing it myself from time to time.

my biggest pet peeve is the post where somebody squeezes 4-6 paragraphs worth of info into one big long 20 sentence paragraph, makes it very difficult to follow the train of thought.

Hit the dam return button from time to time !!!!

Totally Yamaha sled forum is about the worst for bashing people. I will say that the sled forums are about the most brand loyal group in the motorsports industry.

I agree. We went off into left field. I didn't mean to stir up so much trouble. I'm just disappointed that problems get solved but the cause of the issues don't always get shared. Some of us aren't mechanics so it's hard to figure it out ourselves and we all know how expensive a shop technician can be.

This thread was kinda identified as for a little venting and a little venting is good. I see no personal attacks here and do see a couple helpful hints. And Jake, that is kinda a cute little pet peeve ... try the hair dryer to fluff him up a bit and make him much friendlier.

Use of the word "dude" at or near me makes me need to suppress the inner urge to deliver a double-back-handed-bi*ch-slap across their chops ... but being the peace-loving, lovable, old fart dude that I am I mostly let it go except for the reply "are you speaking about a ranch or what?" or just state that there are no "dudes" around here. It just hits me as a rude or aggressive term.

I got a lady at my office to print out the graphic in vinyl. I designed the graphic and scanned it in. She, in turn, cleaned it up and put it on her little machine and charged me 5 bucks for material. The boys and I put it on and it has been the talk of our end of the lake all season.
