Just to let you know im fine, but now looking for parts new or old for my 3D di.
I had a little mishap last Sunday when jumping waves in the North Sea.
While getting turned over with a big wave i righted my Ski and pushed in to shallow water.
And on pushing the starter and the ski not having non of it, I gave it another push. Bang it went with bits floating all around me.
It threw me into the sea and shook me up pretty bad.
On inspection it has demolished the engine hood and seat locking knuckle.
It has also split top half of hull from botom.
But before anyone goes blaming Seadoo. Dont!
You see I had a very exensive fix some months ago on a fuel problem.
Water in the tank and poor flow on the fuel pump.
I tried to remedy the water in the fuel tank buy placeing a water catch bottle
inside the hull.
This worked a treat and collected fuel and sea water every outing
What had happened was while jumping waves the water catcher had come adrift and left fuel in the hull.
On pressing the starter it ignited somehow.
I see the inlet manifold does not have a spar arrester fitted on these, and think a backfire set it off.
But with the rotary valve in these engines I dont see thats possible.
Another possibility could be a spark from the HT leads. But not sure.
Anyhow the ski is out of action till I source a few parts.
See in Sale and wanted section.
