Hi Everyone,, I am new to the forum and require some help...
I own a 2002 Sportster LE 947. It is caburated, not fuel injected.
The motor starts great. Runs great and opens up prefectly (I think!?) for approx 30 minutes and than starts to run ruff and smokes excessifly after that. The RMP opens up to 7000 on the tach,,,however there is very little power and the boat seems to be laboring....
I thought it might be the plugs and when I removed the old ones they didn't look all that bad. They were dark but not oil soaked. Installed the new ones anyways and took the boat out...
No luck,,,the engine was warm and it still seemed to run poorly....
Last year the boat was not ran, due to our lake flooding and not being able to launch the boat. However this spring, the boat ran great and I used up all of the old fuel before adding any fresh gas.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Starts great ,,,runns great and than starts to labor...
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
