I saw a good one while on vacation this last week. The person had a rental 3 person ski with 4 people on it while towing a tube with 4 more on it. Only one was an adult and all the others were less then 8 if I had to guess. Not sure what other states allow though in Wisconsin everyone must be able to sit on the ski as in 1 driver,1 spotter and 1 skier/ tuber. 2 ups are not allowed to pull any thing.

Stupid does as stupid is..or maybe it's the other around.....doesn't matter.
I agree a lot of people are stupid when it comes to boats/skis and lake rules.

Yep... stupid. That's the one where you hear on the news about people getting dead.
The USGC rules are what you said. a 3 person ski can only have 3 people, and That includes the one person out on the tube. There are some states that modify that rule... but it's still within the safe operation of the ski.
I'm surprised the Rental shop wasn't on that.
