Hey Guys

Many years ago well around 2002-2003 i rebuilt the motor on a 720cc SPX 1996 i first started off by splying paint stripper to the whole motor than washing it off after this i used automotive paint in the spray can it looked really nice and new but after the first ride the paint job begin to crack than the paint peeled off in chunks

I'm now rebuilding a 787cc GTX 1997 and the motor has already be stripped of paint, what is the process of painting a good job that will last?

I like rust-o-leum ALMOND Appliance Paint. Its a cheap epoxy aerosol, 2 cans will do it all.

If you want something colorful I really love the g2 engine paint kits. You can brush it on or use a preval system to apply it. Its more expensive than a couple cans of spray paint but man is that stuff tuff once it drys. It goes on so smooth & is super durable! Ive used it on all my engines *car mostly*, brakes, suspension parts etc.

Just looking for a White, Off White or Gray paint mate

No need to use high heat paint or engine paint.
The cracking before was probably from stripper residue. Most people media blast the parts.
On all mine I just clean all parts with gasoline (not safe or recommended) then assemble the engine then wipe down with automotive pre paint prep solvent then rattle can.

Here is what I do. I wire wheel with a drill all the spots where the past is chipping pr has corrosion, once smooth I duct tape everything off, degrease with Zep Purple Cleaner, power wash, blow it with air to get the water out of all the threads, let it bake and dry in the sun, then once its all dry I use rustoluem 500 deg paint. Turns out great!
