Put seadoo in water today for the grand kids and after 5 minures running they brought ski back in with check engine light on and P0544 code.
Book says it's "Exhaust gas temperature functional problem" with various causes. Let the ski set 15-20 minutes and code was gone, then
ran about 10 minutes and code reappeared. I'm going to check connections and whatever but wondering if they can still use it or should
I shut it down?
Thanks

Temp sensors in general fail pretty often. I would at the very least touch the engine and exhaust area to see if they do feel above the norm.

If you use the hose connector it back-flushes the engine. So, if there is something blocking a passage, it should dump it for you. The hose flushes by routing the water flow in reverse of what the jet pump does.

Pulled connection at sensor and at ECM, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Made sure they were connected securely and the ski has been running for 20--30 minutes
without any alarms. Will see what happens. Again, if alarm comes back on does anyone know if running it will cause damage?

The kids ran the ski several hours yesterday and today and alarm never came back on!! Maybe it cured itself???

There might be an intake water screen off the pump that run water though for cooling. You could have had some debris that had blocked it, but cleared after. That is why Coastiejoe suggested you back flush.
