I have a 2005 RXP that is showing a Check Engine message on the display. The p-code displays as p-0546. This only started after I had to replace the battery. Are these related? What is the meaning of this pcode?

Thanks.

P0546 code reads in the manual as the responsible module is the ECM. It is a beeper code of 5 beeps, the check engine light is on in the info center.

The ECM is reporting that the exhaust temperature sensor is shorted to 12 volts and Exhaust gas temperature has an open circuit.

Possible cause; Damaged Sensor, Damaged Circuit wires, Damaged Connector or damaged ECM output pins

You will have normal operation when the fault is recovered.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks Karl,

The pwc had been into the shop to have a thermostat changed. I went looking through the engine compartment to see if I could find any loose connections and found that the connector had apparently shaken loose. Reconnected it and everythings fine.

Thanks for your help.

That is great news!!! Now go have some fun in the water...let us know if we can help in the future. Post some pictures in the "Users Galleries" if you get a chance.
