ok quick rundown of my issues here...first time out on the lake with my 90 sp, lost the drain plug and flooded the engine. got it running again, had a grounding issue and fixed that. got a new drain plug and brought it out again. this time one of my cylinder head bolts popped out because the threads were stripped. so i jb welded the bolt back in and brought it out again. this time i rode it for maybe 10 minutes and it just completely died on me. couldnt get it going again so i needed a tow back in. brought it home and tinckered with the carb a little...got it going again. so i brought it back to the lake and ran it for maybe 5 minutes and bam overheat alarm starts going off loud as can be, limped it back to shore and cut the engine...whole top end was smoking...ugh. im probably going to need a rebuild now but theres another issue plauging it...water in the oil tank. what is the large oil line going from the side of the block to the TOP of the oil tank for?? it seems to be just completely blocked with this milky sludge. any thoughts? this engine is cursed i swear...

yeah well your ski obviously hates you. after you fix this problem another one will come. you got this ski right when it was ready to give up on life. if it was me, i would part it out or try to get like $500 for it and buy something a little newer.

Looks to me like when you sunk the ski you ended up with water in the ROTARY VALVE and now it has mixed with your oil. with it getting as hot as you did you should just be able to flush all of the oil out and not have a water issue any longer.

but does sound like you have many problems here...

whats the easiest way to flush the old oil out? it still turns over and spins freely at the flywheel so i dont think its seized but i definatly need to get that old shitty oil out...
i really dont have the time to part it out, wish i could but i cant really afford it right now

first drain the oil tank, second put new oil in there. leaving the return line unhooked. run the return line to a coffee can and lower it below the oil tank, you will see the oil from the tank go through the rotary valve and come out the return line pushing the water out first. when the oil runs clear hook up the return and fill the oil tank back up.

Also, check your oil tank and the check valve. The water got into your oil tank most likely from a bad or missing check valve or possibly a bad grommet. Pressure test the oil tank to see if it leaks.
