ive heard other skis make this sound when flushing them with the hose, is this normal for my 97 seadoo gtx or does it mean bearings and such are bad? one person told me that most of the 2cycle engine skis make this noise but man does it sound bad!

full of questions today, thanks, greg

Greg, that is normal because the Jet Pump isn't under load as it is in the water and the spacer in the nose cone is moving around a bit causing it to make noise. There is a kit on the market that quiets it down, but it only lasts for a short time before it makes noise again... It's nothing to worry about.

If you get the manual, you can see how to change the jet pump oil too. Everything is in the manual and we will always be here to help out too if you get in a jam.

Mine did the same thing, then it wasnt propusling (sp) correctly and when you take it out of the water it is slightly louder cling and clang. Im thinking its my wear ring??

It sounds like you might need a jet pump rebuild of at least the bearings. Check the oil in the jet pump.

If the noise really metallic sounding, it could be just the impeller rattling on the driveshaft splines. This is normal. Skat-Trac tend to do this more than other impellers.
